Course Overview

Our First Aid, CPR and AED certification course was developed by the National Safety Council, and provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to execute basic life-saving techniques. Our comprehensive course materials are designed to allow students the time needed to master a multitude of abilities related to first aid and CPR through a combination of industry-leading curriculum and dynamic hands-on training. Students will leave this class knowing they have gained the skills and confidence needed to respond to a medical emergency.

If you have a desire to teach others the skills needed to respond to medical emergencies, a First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor Course is the perfect choice for you!

Course Overview

Our First Aid, CPR & AED course has been developed by the National Safety Council. The course is designed to meet OSHA requirements and provides students with the tools needed to train their workforce or the general public on the latest skills, techniques and expertise in life-saving procedures. The practice and feedback of using related skills in a realistic situation is integrated into the actual teaching experience and are taught in a dynamic and hands-on way with industry-leading curriculum.

Key Topics/Goals/Objectives

In addition to sitting through the NSC First Aid, CPR and AED course, candidate instructors will learn:

  • How to teach and facilitate a First Aid, CPR and AED training course
  • Recommended course preparation steps
  • What makes a successful instructor
  • Various teaching methods used in the course
  • How to manage course participants
  • How to facilitate testing and remediation exercises
  • Demonstrate facilitator skills on various topics

Upon successful completion of the course, candidate instructors will need to complete a Training Center agreement and an Instructor agreement through the National Safety Council.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Basic Course you’ll earn .55 CEUs from the Wisconsin Safety Council.
Train-the-Trainer Course you’ll 1.30 earn CEUs from the Wisconsin Safety Council.
Certificates: Participants are given the National Safety Council two-year certificate for CPR and a three-year certificate for first aid.
