Nominations Open for Wisconsin Corporate Safety Awards

Nominations due Feb. 4 at 12:00pm

MADISON – Wisconsin Safety Council – the state’s leading provider of safety training and products – is now accepting nominations for the 26th annual Corporate Safety Awards. The nomination period is open until Tuesday, Feb. 4 and applications can be submitted at wisafetycouncil.org.

The Corporate Safety Awards honor the state’s leading companies for their efforts to create a strong culture of safety, implement innovative safety solutions and ultimately keep every Wisconsin worker safe.

“Wisconsin employers value their most important asset – their workers,” said Aaron Huebner, Wisconsin Safety Council Executive Director. “These awards recognize the top businesses in the state for putting safety first and ensuring it is valued by every single person in a company.”

The Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award winners are selected in two phases. In Phase I, statistical data relating to a company’s incidence rates for the past three years, with an emphasis on current full year’s calendar data, is reviewed. The deadline for Phase I is Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Finalists selected from the initial nominees are then asked to answer a series of subjective questions pertaining to workplace health and safety issues. Finalists have until March 2, 2020 to submit the Phase II application. Winners will be recognized at the Wisconsin Safety Council Annual Conference in Wisconsin Dells from April 19-22.

“We strive to make Wisconsin the safest state to live, work and play,” added Huebner. “This program helps us acknowledge the leaders in industry who are helping us do just that.”

The awards are presented by Wisconsin Safety Council and sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and M3 Insurance. More details about the Wisconsin Corporate Safety Awards can be found at wisafetycouncil.org.
