Are you or a co-worker considered an expert in your industry and willing to share your expertise with peers across the state on safety, health, human resources, environmental, transportation, or other related fields? Have you attended our conference in the past and are looking for new industry specific topics? If you answered yes … then you are the person we’re looking for!

WSC encourages potential speakers to nominate presentations which are engaging, hands-on and interactive sessions. All nominations will be considered for our educational, breakout sessions; we have already secured our keynote presentations.

The 2024 Wisconsin Safety Council Annual Conference will take place Monday – Wednesday, April 15-17, 2024. The days will be broken into approximately 45+ technical sessions. Our conference consistently draws over 1,200 professionals, 200+ exhibitors and 500+ vendor reps.

Annual Conference Speaker Presentations FAQ

Nomination Process

Submit your nomination(s) by clicking the button above. We accept nominations by peers or self nominations. We also encourage “panel” sessions, up to 3 total presenters. Selection is competitive, so your submission must be compelling and complete.
Nominations are due no later than September 15.
Submissions will be reviewed and selected by our committee in mid October. All nominees, regardless of whether their nomination was/was not accepted, will be notified in late October.

Format for Technical Sessions

Educational sessions are either 1 or 1.5 hours in length

Format for Professional Development Sessions

These courses are one to multiple-day seminars that require a separate fee for registered attendees. The courses provide hands on, in-depth knowledge building career advancing and certificate opportunities in a classroom format.

Session Level

Each session is given an experience level by the speaker who submitted the topic, geared toward the attendee who is:
(1)=Fundamental (new to safety industry & has little or no training, 1-3 yrs experience)
(2)=Intermediate (has experience in the field and wants to build on it, 4-9 yrs experience)
(3)=Advanced (is considered a seasoned safety & health professional, 10+ yrs experience)

Preference in Sessions is Given to
  • Submissions with a participant from the industry
  • Topics which reflect current, recent or emerging issues or changes in those industries
  • In order to meet the growing experience of our attendees, special consideration will be given to submissions from the Intermediate and Advanced categories
  • Submissions with multiple speakers

Sessions will be assigned various breakout rooms approx. 2 weeks prior to the event.

Speaker Fees & Reimbursements

All expenses such as travel, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the speaker; WSC does not pay speaker honorariums.

Conference Speaker Registration

All secured speakers are entitled to receive a two-day complimentary registration. ($640 value). This includes entrance to all technical sessions, keynotes and expo (not PDCs)

Session Handouts

Handouts will be available to our attendees via our website only as early as one week prior to the conference.
Your presentation is requested to be sent in PPT format by given deadline. We will convert the PPT into a PDF (3 slides per page) for web use.

Power-Point Presentations

Your presentation will be due at given date (2-3 weeks prior) and can be any length necessary.

Your presentation will be uploaded to our website for attendees to download as handouts prior to the conference. All speakers must bring their presentation with them on a jump-drive on the day they’re presenting (presentations will not be uploaded on our av equipment). If you wish all attendees to have printed copies of your handouts, we are unable to cover the cost, nor reimburse you, for them. You will be responsible for costs and bringing the necessary copies with you.

Biographies and Photos

Each speaker is asked to submit a short biography to Barb Deans to be used to introduce you to the audience as well as a color photo headshot saved in TIF or JPG formats, 300+ dpi resolution for possible inclusion in our conference programs.

Current speakers are asked to complete this survey regarding their presentation needs, bio and other pertinent information to ensure the presentation is successful.

No Commercialization

We do not endorse any specific products, companies or speakers. Speakers are not permitted to sell, promote or endorse any company or organization’s materials, products or services.
